The best food markets in Copenhagen
One thing that Copenhagen really knows how to do well is food markets. It's a great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon or even start off a Friday night. With so many delicious food options it's ideal to take visitors and one of the slightly cheaper options for eating out.
Torvehallerne - Frederiksborggade 21, 1360 - Nørrebro (City Centre)
There are two modern glass buildings, the left for the sweet toothed, the right if you're feeling for more savoury. Here it’s more about walking around trying different foods rather than sitting down. It's a cosy place to be in the winter, eating and drinking whilst watching the bad weather outside
Must Try: The amazing pastry's at Laura's Bakery!
Good to know: They sell Christmas trees during December. But it really comes out in its prime in the summer, everyone sits outside enjoying the sunshine and there's a great energy about the place. Tip! It's the best market to head to if it's raining since it is all sheltered.https://torvehallernekbh.dk
Reffen Copenhagen Street Food - Refshalevej 167A, 1432
With the sad loss of Paper Island which closed last December, everyone has been anticipating where or when the new food market will be. Luckily a new street food market has just opened right on the waterfront in the industrial area of Refshalevej. It is a large space full of new and upcoming food brands and creative workshops. It also has the popular Danish brewery Mikkeller bar.
Good to know: It isn't the easiest place to get to. It's most convienient for those who have a bike, however there are regular ferry's now and harbour boats which stop right outside Reffen. You can find out more on the website.
Opening hours are from 11am - 9pm.

The Bridge Street market - Strandgade 85, 1401 - City Centre
This street food market opened up quickly just after Paper Island closed down. It's placed right next to the new cycle bridge so it's an easy spot for people to get to from the city. It features a lot of our favourites Grød and Coffee Collective! When the sun is shining there is a great atmosphere here. It is currently our favourite spot for an after-work drink!
Must Try: Breakfasts at Grød which opens from 8am during the week.
Good to know: Coffee Collective and Grød both open from 8am Monday to Friday. The other food stalls open from 10am - 10pm all week.

Kødbyens Mad & Marked (Meat Packing District) - Flæsketorvet, 1711 - Vesterbro
A great way to spend a sunny day, really nice atmosphere and crowd of people. A perfect spot for some day drinking and there is also a stand which sells fish and chips!
Must Try: Everything from Hooked Seafood Kitchen
Good to know: Only open from April to October on Saturday and Sundays. There’s always events, live music, competitions, beer festivals.
