I got lucky enough to get the chance to have an overnight stay at the amazing Manon Les Suites hotel. This boutique hotel is relatively new opening its doors last year in May so it is still a hidden gem in Copenhagen. It is part of the eco-friendly Guldsmeden Hotel chain, and there are currently a total of 3 of these hotels in Copenhagen but this one is truly spectacular and a one of a kind experience.
All of the rooms are based around the central jungle pool surrounded by lush green tropical plants and candle lit lanterns. Here you it feels like you can really get away from city life as it feels like you could be somewhere like Bali rather than -2 degree Copenhagen!
For me a good hotel is one that considers all the details of your stay and Manon Les Suites really perfects this. The rooms include dressing gown, slippers (which you can take home) basket full of toiletries such as toothbrush, razor, and body oils. There is a great selection of organic bio-friendly tea’s, coffee, fruit juices and snacks at the minibar. The room even includes a yoga mat, if you can drag yourself out of the super comfy bed to work on your Downward Facing Dog either outside on the terrace or in the gym. A one night stay here really feels like you have been to a health retreat.
One of the many things I love about this hotel is its emphasis on health and well-being as well as its focus on using eco-conscious products and food. All the room amenities are recyclable and the restaurant and bar uses high quality natural and fresh organic ingredients. The rooms even come with a recyclable water bottle which you fill up from the bathroom tap. The water in Denmark is so pure that it eliminates the need for bottled water making it much more environmentally friendly.
My stay here included cocktails in a very relaxing and cosy rooftop bar with great friendly service. There was even wine hour from 5-6pm where they offered a glass of wine on the house! I continued to enjoy my Jungle fish Mule cocktail poolside on the large loungers with some top tunes being played in the background. After a short dip in the pool I then had dinner in the rooftop restaurant. Again, superb food using local fresh ingredients.
For those who really like to focus on their fitness there is a spacious gym set in a cool industrial basement. There is a lot of equipment on offer including a boxing ring!
I really enjoyed my stay at Manon Les Suites and just having one night stay at this hotel has really put me in a good healthy mindset for 2018. I feel truly pampered and relaxed and can’t wait to visit again soon.
- You are welcome to visit the rooftop bar and restaurant if you are not a paying hotel guest however you can’t use the pool or sauna.
- The hotel, including pool is child friendly. - For those living in Copenhagen you can sign up to the gym for 399dkk per month which includes full access to the gym, sauna, steam room and that amazing pool! There is also the option to do personal training as an extra. You can find out more here.
- As part of a brand new scheme Guldsmeden Hotels now offer Office Club which allows you to work from any of the hotels in the chain from 9 - 5pm. For a monthly fee (2500dkk) you get to use any of the hotel facilities (apart from the gym). With this membership you are able to earn overnight stays and food and drink. It is very new so the finer details are a little unclear on the website but you can find out about it here.
