Food You May Miss From The UK!
Food items to pack if (like us) will miss your British classics. This isn't something we really thought about when we moved but sometimes it's really comforting to have a few items stocked up in the cupboard! Here are some items you can't get in Denmark and we really miss...
MARMITE
Due to Danish food laws, products fortified with added vitamins are banned.
HEINZ BAKED BEANS
Baked beans are easily available here but they are the Supermarket branded type and sometimes nothing quite beats Heinz!
CADBURY MILK CHOCOLATE
The equivalent you can get over here is Marabou chocolate.
ENGLISH BREAKFAST TEA BAGS
Again they are available but generally only the 1 variety and they just don’t taste quite the same! So if you are a tea snob like us then we recommend to bring your own.
SINGLE PACKET OF CRISPS
The crisp snacking culture is very much a British thing, so you can’t really buy single packets over here. You won’t find Walkers either - sometimes we really do miss the classic salt & vinegar Walkers crisps!
Good to know : Head to the Lord Nelson pub in the City Centre – The owners are English and you can buy Walkers crisps!
BRITISH CUMBERLAND SAUSGES
Over here you will only be able to find the hot dog style sausages rather than the one's you get in a typical English fry up!
CRUMPETS
With a big slab of butter, Crumpets are the perfect tea time snack!
Also, it is useful to know that there is an online store where you can buy all your favourite British food items with pretty reasonable delivery too. Now we have this, we no longer need to persuade friends and family to bring Baked Beans, Marmite, crisps over on visits! The nice people at British Corner Shop have offered a code for you all to save £20 on your first order over £75. Just use the code BRITSINCOPENHAGEN20
You can check it out here https://www.britishcornershop.co.uk/
